Outline

The Kosmos Asset Management Scholarship in Economics was established to encourage students from a disadvantaged background to undertake the Bachelor of Economics (BEc) single or dual degree at the UNSW Business School(see eligibility).

How to Apply

To be considered for this Scholarship, applicants must apply for and submit a UAC Educational Access Scheme application by Friday 30 November 2018. Additionally, a direct application must be submitted to UNSW Scholarships via this website.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB, either:
    • in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
    • in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period.
  • Applicants must be planning to, or have accepted an offer, to enrol as a full-time student starting in Semester 1 of their first year in one of the Bachelor degrees, listed below, offered by UNSW Business School:
    • Bachelor of Economics (3543)
    • Bachelor of Commerce/ Bachelor of Economics (3521)
    • Bachelor of Economics / Bachelor of Arts (3574)
    • Bachelor of Economics / Bachelor of Education (Secondary) (4058)
    • Bachelor of Economics/ Bachelor of Science (3563)
    • Bachelor of Economics/ Bachelor of Science (Advanced Maths) (Honours) (3564)
    • Bachelor of Economics/ Bachelor of Science (Advanced) (Honours) (3566)
    Students who are enrolling in the Bachelor of Economics/ Bachelor of Laws (BEc/LLB) (4744) and Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws (Bcom/LLB) (4733) are not eligible to be considered for the scholarships as this program is offered by the Faculty of Law.;

Selection

Applicants will be assessed on:

  • Demonstrating financial hardship
  • In addition one or more of the following disadvantages may be considered:
    • Disrupted schooling
    • Refugee Status
    • Personal Illness / Disability
    • School Environment
    • Home environment and responsibilities
  • Academic Merit may also be considered
