Outline

The Faculty of Law Juris Doctor Equity Scholarship was established to assist high achieving students from disadvantaged backgrounds, or who are experiencing social and/or economic and/or educational disadvantage, to undertake the Juris Doctor Program at UNSW.

Two scholarships are available each year, one at the commencement of each semester.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be commencing or currently enrolled in a UNSW Juris Doctor program
  • Must demonstrate at least one educational disadvantage through an Equity scholarship application to the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

    Selection

    Candidates will be considered on the basis of their UAC Equity online application.

    Each applicant will be assessed on their eligibility to demonstrate one or more of the following criteria:

    • Indigenous Australian
    • Long term medical condition/disability or ongoing affects of abuse
    • Carer responsibilities
    • Regional or remote disadvantage
    • Sole parent responsibilities
    • Financial need

    How to Apply

    Applicants must submit a UAC Undergraduate Equity Scholarship application by Wednesday 4 September 2019.

    Preference will be given to applicants commencing their Juris Doctor at UNSW.
