Outline

This scholarship was established to assist Indigenous students access higher education particularly those who have to relocate to undertake tertiary studies at UNSW.

Commonwealth Scholarships are distributed by the Australian Government to institutions on the basis of their proportion of full-time low income students.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must meet the eligibility criteria as outlined in the Commonwealth Scholarship guidelines.

As a general guideline (applicable in 2016), applicants must:

  • An Australian Indigenous student enrolled full-time in your first undergraduate degree.
  • Demonstrate financial need through receipt of Centrelink benefits
  • Able to provide proof of residency in a regional or remote area for at least two years prior to commencing university.

Selection

Scholarships are allocated to eligible applicants on a competitive basis.

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must submit a UAC Undergraduate Equity Scholarship application by Tuesday 12 July 2016

The next Commonwealth Scholarship offer round UNSW will be participating in is 21 July.

Interviews

Interviews are not required for this Scholarship.
