Outline
This scholarship was established to assist Indigenous students with accommodation costs to undertake an eligible enabling course.
Commonwealth Scholarships are distributed by the Australian Government to institutions on the basis of their proportion of full-time low income students.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must meet the eligibility criteria as outlined in the Commonwealth Scholarship guidelines.
As a general guideline (applicable in 2016), applicants must:
- An Australian Indigenous student
- Demonstrate financial need through receipt of Centrelink benefits
- Able to provide proof of residency in a regional or remote area for at least two years prior to commencing university.
- Be commencing full-time in your first Enabling course.
Note: Information regarding the 2017 Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships will be available in August.
Selection
Scholarships are allocated to eligible applicants on a competitive basis.
To be considered for a scholarship, one application will need to be lodged with the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) Equity Scholarships.
Interviews
Interviews are not required for this Scholarship.
