Outline

The Mitsui Matsushima Australia Japanese Studies Award was established to encourage high achieving students to undertake Japanese Studies at the UNSW Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Be a high school leaver or commencing first year undergraduate student
  • Be commencing a full-time undergraduate (single or dual) program at UNSW
  • Applicants will intend to enrol in Japanese courses from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in first year studies and must demonstrate intention to continue with a major in Japanese Studies throughout their studies
  • Applicants will have high academic achievement in Japanese Studies in a Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (eg HSC)

Selection

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:

  • Academic ability (particularly in HSC Japanese Studies)
  • Interviews

    Interviews are not required for this Scholarship.
