Outline

The Bouygues Construction Women in Engineering Scholarship aims to encourage and assist a female student to undertake a degree in one of the below disciplines:

  • Civil and Environmental Engineering
  • Photovoltaics and Renewable Energy Engineering

Application Process

This scholarship is included in the Women In Engineering Scholarship Common Application. In order to be potentially considered for this scholarship please apply via the advertisement for the Women In Engineering Scholarships(UGCE1400)

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be Female; and
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident; and
  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB, either:
    • in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
    • in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period.
  • Be commencing full-time undergraduate study in one of the following programs, at the UNSW Kensington Campus:
    • Bachelor of Civil and or Environmental Engineering (single) offered by the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering
    • Bachelor of Photovoltiacs and or Renewable Energy Engineering (single) offered by the School of Photovoltaics and Renewable Energy
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Bachelor of Law*

Note: The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Flexible First Year) is not eligible for this Scholarship

* The tenure of the scholarship will remain at a maximum of four years.

Selection

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:

  • Personal qualities for example involvement and achievement in school and community activities, hobbies, strong leadership and communication skills)
  • Academic merit (estimated ATAR of 91)
  • Aptitude and commitment to a career in engineering
  • Good academic ability in mathematics, English and science
  • An interest in undertaking work experience with Bouygues Construction

Interviews

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.
