Outline
The UNSW Equity Award aims to support current students at UNSW who may be experiencing a form of educational disadvantage.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
- Have completed a minimum of one semester of full-time study in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program at UNSW; and
- Must demonstrate at least one educational disadvantage through an Equity Scholarships (ES) application to the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC)
Selection
Candidates will be considered on the basis of their UAC Equity Scholarship application. Each applicant must be experiencing educational disadvantage and will be assessed on their eligibility to demonstrate one or more of the following criteria:
- Financial Hardship
- Carer Responsibilities
- Sole Parent Responsibilities
- Indigenous Australian
- Long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse
- Refugee status
- Regional or remote disadvantage
The award of the Scholarship may not be deferred.
Applicants must submit an Equity Scholarship application via UAC
Successful applicants will be notified of their outcome during the UAC Equity Scholarship Offer Rounds.
Interviews
Shortlisted applicants are not required to attend an interview.
