Outline

The purpose of the Award is to encourage and support University of South Pacific law graduates from Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands to undertake an intensive postgraduate coursework subject at UNSW Law that is of practical benefit to their development as a lawyer, and/or their professional legal role. It is intended that the fees of the intensive subject will be covered by UNSW Law.

Eligibility

International only. The applicant must be from:

  • Vanuatu; or
  • the Solomon Islands.

    Future Student. The applicant must:

  • have a law degree from the University of South Pacific;
  • have received that law degree in the past 5 years; and
  • be enrolled in an intensive postgraduate coursework subject at UNSW Law.

    Selection

  • The applicant explanation of how the chosen UNSW Law postgraduate coursework subject will assist in either or both of their development as a lawyer, and their ability to perform their professional work; and
  • academic merit.
  • Subject to the available pool of candidates, preference will be given to awarding the Award, in alternating years, to recipients from Vanuatu and recipients from the Solomon Islands. Preference will be given to candidates who have not undertaken overseas tertiary study (except at the University of South Pacific).

    Interviews

    Interviews are not required for this Scholarship
