Outline
This Award was established to encourage undergraduate research in the UNSW Planning Program in the field of public transport. Recipients of the Award should be undertaking a thesis on a topic concerned with the planning implications of public transport development, including, but not restricted to issues of land use-transport interrelationships, urban design, spatial structure, pricing, policy and sustainability.

Selection
Applicants must be enrolled on a full-time basis in the final year of the Bachelor of Planning degree in the Faculty of the Built Environment, and undertaking an undergraduate thesis. There are no residency requirements. Applicants will be assessed on the basis of academic merit, written and oral communication skills and a written research proposal that identifies and discusses the matters of public policy significance to be investigated in their thesis. The research proposal may be illustrated but should be no more than three A4 pages in length. Shortlisted applicants may be interviewed. The Award recipient should not normally hold any other scholarship or award (except for Youth Allowance/Austudy) except with the permission of the UNSW Selection Committee.
