Outline
The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) has established a scholarship for commencing or currently enrolled Indigenous students studying a specified undergraduate degree at UNSW.
The objective of this scholarship program is to support students interested in an area of Built Environment and to increase the Indigenous workforce in planning and public spaces services.
Scholarship Value
The scholarship is valued at $12,500 per annum for the minimum duration of program based on a full-time study load (commencing students) or minimum remaining duration of program based on a full-time study load (current students)Additional Information
The scholarship recipient may be invited by the DPIE to undertake industrial training over the UNSW summer vacation periods. The industrial training will be negotiated directly between DPIE and the recipient. Payment for the industrial training will be provided by DPIE directly to the recipient and the amounts will be determined at DPIE's discretion with reference to appropriate market rates. This industrial training is not compulsory, and will be considered separate to the scholarship and separate to the UNSW Scholarships Office.Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship applicants must be:
- Indigenous Australian (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander only)
- Commencing or currently enrolled full-time in one of the following UNSW courses in order of preference:
- Bachelor of City Planning
- Bachelor of Construction Management & Property
- Bachelor of Environmental Management
- Bachelor of Computational Design
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Environmental)
- Bachelor of Environmental Science
- Bachelor of Architectural Studies
- Bachelor of Landscape Architecture
Selection
Scholarship applications will be evaluated and assessed by DPIE and scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria:
- Face to face interview
- Written assessment

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE).
