Outline

The UNSW Women in Engineering Scholarships Program aims to encourage and assist female students commencing studies in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW.

By applying for the UNSW Women in Engineering Scholarships Program you may be considered for the following scholarships. More scholarships may be added to this list progressively.

Scholarship Value and Duration Program Eligibility
Faculty of Engineering Women in Engineering Scholarships (UGCE1394)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program - Multiple Offers Available

Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or double degree) in any Faculty of Engineering degree program.
CIMIC Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1368)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program (up to 4 years)


Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or double degree) in one of the following Faculty of Engineering degree programs:
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

Exclusions: Flexible First Year

CAE Australia Pty Ltd Women in Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1464)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program (up to 4 years)


Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or double degree) in one of the following Faculty of Engineering degree programs:
  • Civil and Environmental Engineering (including Surveying & Structural)
  • Computer Science (3778) & double programs
  • Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications
  • Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (including Mechatronics)

Exclusions: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Flexible First Year)

Industry Training: The recipient may be invited to participate in an industrial training internship with the sponsor.

David Beale Women in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Scholarship (UGCA1430)

$7,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program (up to 5 years)

Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or double degree) in one of the following Faculty of Engineering degree programs:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Mechatronic Engineering

Exclusions: Flexible First Year, Aerospace Engineering and Naval Architecture.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria in addition to the program requirements listed above:
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident (including Humanitarian Visa Holders) or New Zealand Citizen; and
  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period; and
  • Be female

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
  • Academic Merit
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in an area of Engineering

Interviews

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview on the 23rd of November 2022.


Faculty of Engineering Elite Interstate Women Scholarship (UGCE1244)

You do not need to submit an application to be considered for the below scholarship.

Value and Duration

$12,000 per annum for the minimum duration of your program.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Be a female student
  • Have completed the HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB in Australia (excluding NSW) in the year prior to commencing at UNSW
  • Be commencing full-time undergraduate study in a Faculty of Engineering program (single or double, excluding Law)

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:

  • Academic Merit
