Outline

For students who will be undertaking their final year of the Bachelor of Civil Engineering in the year of tenure. Students undertaking a combined degree are eligible to apply.

The recipient will be strongly encouraged to undertake 12 weeks of Industrial Training with the WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff Australia Pty. Ltd. in the summer vacation period prior to the year of tenure.

Payment for the Industrial Experience will be provided by WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff Australia Pty. Ltd and will be at the appropriate market rate, determined from year to year by the company.

Eligibility

Selection

The recipient must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Applicants must be full-time students entering the final year of their undergraduate program who are anticipating working in their chosen profession upon graduation.

Applicants will be considered on the basis of academic merit, demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, proven initiative and extra- curricular leadership activities. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview.

The Scholarship recipient must maintain enrolment in a normal full-time load.

The Scholarship recipient must not hold any other Scholarship or Award (except for Youth Allowance/Austudy/Abstudy/Commonwealth Learning Scholarship) except with the permission of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff Australia Pty. Ltd.
