Outline

This high school leaver scholarship is open to rural* students who will be commencing full-time study in a UNSW Bachelor of Engineering in either Civil or Environmental engineering.

*Preference will be given to students from the Central West region of NSW particularly within the Orange Council area.

The successful recipient may be invited to undertake industrial training with GHD over the summer vacation periods at the end of Years 1, 2 and 3. Payment for the industrial experience will be provided by GHD and will be at the appropriate award rate for that year.

Selection

.academic merit (estimated ATAR of 91)
. good academic ability in mathematics, English and science
. aptitude and commitment to studies in either civil or environmental engineering
. personal qualities (for example, involvement and achievement in school and community activities, strong leadership and communication skills)
. financial circumstances may also be taken into account.

Interviews
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend for an interview in the fourth week of November.
