Outline

The Alexandria Ada Lam Scholarship in Engineering aims to assist female secondary school students to study at the UNSW Faculty of Engineering.

Application Process

This scholarship is included in the Women In Engineering Scholarship Common Application. In order to be potentially considered for this scholarship please apply via the advertisement for the Women In Engineering Scholarships(UGCE1400)

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident; and
  • Be female; and
  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB either:
    • in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
    • in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period; and
  • Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or dual degree) in any UNSW Faculty of Engineering degree program.

Selection

Applicants will be selected on the basis of:

  • Academic merit
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in an area of Engineering
  • Demonstrated or potential leadership skills
  • Commitment to extra-curricular, charity and volunteer work

Accommodation

The successful recipient may also be eligible to receive a $5,000 top-up for the first year of the scholarship to put towards college fees, should they wish to attend a UNSW college. Click here for more information on UNSW Colleges.

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to attend for an interview.
