Outline
The Access Assist Scholarships are provided to encourage local students from low socio-economic backgrounds to undertake full-time undergraduate study at UNSW.
The Scholarship is available to all commencing students in all programs.
Eligibility
To be eligible, candidates must:
- Be Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents (including Australian Humanitarian Visa Holders); and
- Be commencing a UNSW undergraduate program (single or dual) in any Faculty; and
- Have applied through UAC for the Educational Access Scheme (EAS) application and demonstrate financial disadvantage
Selection
Candidates will be considered on the basis of their Educational Access Scheme application to UAC (University Admissions Centre).
Each applicant must be experiencing financial disadvantage and will be assessed on their eligibility to demonstrate one or more of the following criteria:
- Indigenous Australian
- Disrupted Schooling
- Home environment and responsibilities
- Personal illness/disabilities
- Refugee status
- School Environment
The award of the Scholarship may not be deferred.
Applicants must submit a UAC Educational Access Scheme application by Thursday, 30 November 2017.
Interviews
Interviews are not required for this Scholarship.
