Outline

The Balnaves Foundation Indigenous Medical ILP Award is to encourage UNSW medical students to undertake an ILP (Independent Learning Project) relevant to Indigenous health. All medical students must complete an ILP as part of their medicine degree at UNSW. The ILP is intended to provide UNSW medical students with a period of in-depth study that engenders an approach to medicine that is constantly questioning and self critical. All UNSW Medical students enrolling in an ILP in the field of Indigenous Health will be eligible.

Selection

Each applicant will be assessed on the basis of academic merit, extracurricular achievements and any relevant contributions to this area. Students wishing to apply will be asked for an overview of their ILP that is pertinent to Indigenous health and their supervisor’s comments.
