Outline

This Scholarship is established to encourage female students to undertake full-time study at UNSW in a Bachelor of Science or combined Bachelor of Science programs at UNSW, with a major or study plan in Mathematics.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

• Have completed the Higher School Certificate (or equivalent qualification) in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or two (2) years prior to commencing study provided they have not undertaken any tertiary study in the meantime.

• Be commencing full-time undergraduate study in the Bachelor of Science or combined Bachelor of Science program at UNSW, with a major or study plan in Mathematics.

Selection

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:

• Academic merit, based on HSC ATAR (or equivalent) and Mathematics results.

Consideration will also be given to potential to contribute to and participate in the life of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, particularly through involvement in the 'Girls Do The Maths' programme. Other areas of contribution may include involvement in such activities as the Student Mathematical Society (MathSoc) or mentoring younger students.
