Outline
The Awards aim to encourage and assist students to undertake full-time study in the UNSW Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology.
The Award is sponsored by The Food Technology Association of Australia (FTAA).
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be Australia Citizens, Australian Permanent Resident visa holders or Australian Permanent Resident (Humanitarian) visa holders; and
- Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB, either:
- in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
- in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period.
- Be commencing full-time undergraduate study in the Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology offered by the School of Chemical Engineering (UAC Code: 425600, UNSW code 3060).
Selection
Applicants will be selected on the basis of:
- Academic merit
- An interest and aptitude for studying food science
- Personal qualities (for example involvement in extra-cirricular activities, evidence of leadership skills, and potential to contribute to the wider life of UNSW)
- Preference may be given applicants in receipt of means-tested Centrelink Benefits, such as ABSTUDY, Youth Allowance, or Austudy
Applicants are only required to lodge one application to be considered for the following two Awards:
- F H Reuter Award in Food Science & Technology $6,000 x 1 year
- FTAA (Food Technology Association of Australia) Award in Food Science & Technology $6,000 x 1 year.
