Outline

The WSP Women in Engineering Scholarship aims to encourage and assist a female student to undertake a degree in Civil Engineering offered by the UNSW School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Application Process

This scholarship is included in the Women In Engineering Scholarship Common Application. In order to be potentially considered for this scholarship please apply via the advertisement for the Women In Engineering Scholarships(UGCE1400)

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Female; and
  • Be an Be Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident; and
  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB, either:
    • in the year prior to commencing study at UNSW, or
    • in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period.
  • Be commencing full-time undergraduate study in one of the following programs (single or dual) offered by the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering:
    • Bachelor of Civil Engineering

    Note: The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Flexible First Year) is not eligible for this Scholarship

    Selection

    Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:

    • Academic merit (estimated ATAR of 91)
    • Aptitude and commitment to studies in either Civil or Environmental Engineering
    • An interest in undertaking work experience with WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff
    • Personal qualities (for example communication skill, evidence of leadership skills and/or teamwork, involvement in extra-curricular activities)

    Interviews

    Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.
