Outline

The Rural Student Achievement Awards (Rural SAA) are offered to assist students from Regional ASPIRE partner high schools to undertake study in an undergraduate degree program at UNSW.

It is anticipated up to 5 Rural awards will be offered in 2017.

The Award comprises:

  • Certificate of recognition
  • Three bonus points (included in the maximum total bonus points) for entry into an undergraduate degree program at UNSW, except for Medicine (42800 BMed MD) and Co-op programs
  • A single payment of $4,000 following confirmation of full-time enrollment at UNSW.

This award can be deferred for up to 2 years, if the offer of Admission is formally deferred and the student does not undertake any other tertiary study in the meantime.

The Rural SAA cannot be held in conjunction with a UNSW Scientia Scholarship, Academic Achievement Award or Student Achievement Award.

Eligibility

For entry to UNSW, offers will be made by UNSW to students from a Regional ASPIRE partner High School.

Selection

Selection will be based on academic merit.

Recipients will receive a Certificate of Recognition from UNSW. The Certificate is not an offer to study at UNSW.

Payment of the stipend is made only if students are enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree program at UNSW, as at Census date (31 March) in the year awarded.



Further Information

You do not need to submit a Scholarship application to be considered for this Scholarship. However applicants will need to submit a UAC Undergraduate Admission application

Eligible candidates will be identified through their UAC application.
