Outline

The Rodolfo Velasco Award in International Law and Development was established to promote and further the study of international law and development, and to develop expertise in this field in Australia.

The Award will be granted to a student to enable him/her to undertake either:

  • an internship with an organisation/entity located in Asia which has a specialty in, or a meaningful connection with, international law and developement; or
  • a specialised course of study at an institution located in Asia focused on international law and development.

Eligibility

  • full time students enrolled in any year of a postgraduate law or Juris Doctor Degree
  • full time students entering the third year or higher of an undergraduate dual law degree; and
In addition, applicants who wish to undertake an internship must:
  • (if enrolled in an undergraduate dual Law degree or a Juris Doctor degree) be eligible to enrol in the course LAWS3308/JURD7308 (UNSW Law Internship); or
  • (if enrolled in a postgraduate Law degree) be eligible to enrol in the course LAWS8173 (UNSW Postgraduate Law Internship). An applicant who has previously completed the above courses is not eligible to enrol again in that course, and is therefore not eligible for the Award.

    Interviews
